ah, the duck.

i was given a jar of sauce from my mentor and had been waiting to test it out. i bought a duck the other day, covered in sauce and marinated overnight. today i cooked it and it wasn’t bad, i think i should have left it in a bit longer to dry it out a bit, but it was really juicy. i cut it up and put the rest with the udon noodles i’ve had in the cupboard for a while for just this moment. i used to buy ‘shredded roast duck with udon” fromoriental city in emsworth and it was fantastic. i’ll definately do it again, but speak to mr. tang first.

its been a good couple of days of eating. earlier in the week i saw this sauce in the supermarket, and as ever, hoped that it might take me one step closer to the king of kung po – the dragon inn in hillingdon.

its as close to the dragon kung po i’ve had, much better than any recipe i’ve found. i didn’t deep fry the prawns so next time will take it closer to what i hope will be a lifetime of delicious, delicious po. i recommend it until i find something better.
